DEAD BALL

A DEAD BALL is a ball out of play because of a legally created temporary suspension of play.


DISCUSSION:
Do not pitch signal (a “stop sign” arm extended palm towards pitcher) creates dead ball.  [BRD 161]
Umpire raises hand and catcher throws ball over pitcher's head. R3 scores and argument ensues.
