BASE COACH
A BASE COACH is a team member in uniform who is stationed in
the coach’s box at first or third base to direct the batter and the runners.
DISCUSSION:
A base coach must
wear the team uniform [Rule 4.05(b)(1)], and may not wear a jacket [MLBUM].
Base coaches generally wear a jacket under the uniform when temperatures get
frigid.
